North Bar’s midnight on New Year’s Eve, surrounded by a hundred people who all know what good beer tastes like, is a different experience from the club circuit but equally legitimate.

The multi-floor venue on The Headrow runs one of the best all-rounder NYE nights in the city – multiple rooms, multiple music formats, the kind of layout that means you can spend the evening moving between the options without committing to one crowd or one genre. Good for groups with mixed tastes.

Hotel and Restaurant Packages

The Grand and The Queens both run NYE dinner-and-party packages that represent the formal end of the spectrum. These are the better option for older groups or couples who want a proper dinner as part of the evening rather than the club-at-midnight format.

Practical Notes

Book taxis home before midnight. The Uber surge on NYE in Leeds city centre is significant – pre-booking a local taxi firm gives you a fixed price and a reasonable collection time. The alternative is a very long walk at 2am in December.
